I was looking forward to seeing The Muskokas for myself. I had heard so much about cottage country, the place where the rich and famous had summer cottages. The thing that they don’t tell you about The Muskokas is that it is NOT RV country. Nary a campground or sani-dump in sight and not for lack of trying. We felt very lucky to find a parking lot in Bala with a sign saying we could park for 72 hours. It should have said we could park for 72 hours IF WE DARED! This should have clued us in.
There were 4 of these just above our heads through the night.
Besides this, Bala and the nearby towns made The Muskokas the epitome of cottage country. It was a beautiful and scenic place, with interesting spots along the way.
The Muskokas was also the place I achieved one of my personal goals…buying local yarn. This was a one-off colourway by a local dyer at Shelridge yarns. I’m knitting the Greenwich sweater by Martin Storey, a boyfriend sweater built for comfort.
A boyfriend sweater is a sweater that is comfortable, like you are wearing your boyfriend's sweater because it is oversized.
BTW, what exactly is a boyfriend sweater?
So did Allan try the waterboarding? I can't imagine he wasn't tempted. Lol!
