Fenelon Falls - He's Family

One of Lynn’s customers who was obviously a motor racing fan once asked her, “How do you know Allan de la Plante?” She said simply, “He’s family.”

It had been quite a few years since I was at Fenelon Falls visiting with Allan’s cousin Michael and his wife Lynn. They’re people who have many irons in the fire. Not only do they run several businesses, like The Corral, a local clothing and tourist shop, but they have numerous house projects, like chopping down trees for the yard, building a garage, etc. etc. etc.

But the big news in the household this time was the babies. Noelle and Bailey were the sparkles in everyone’s eyes. They were high energy, curious puppies. And they were cute!

The town itself is a booming tourist town, expanding to around 30,000 in the summer season.

The canal is part of the Trent-Severn Waterway which links Lake Ontario to Georgian Bay. It was definitely well-used.

We ate at a couple of restaurants overlooking the canal and falls.

And of course, we had to try the local brewery.
